I’m Olly Farshi. I’m a designer, a writer and a drinker of green tea. I live in New Orleans and work for Civic Center, a creative studio that make cities more comfortable for people.
Most of my work is totally secret. However, you’ll find a very limited selection on this site.
In the past, I’ve designed user interfaces and experiences for everything from giant commercial touch devices to tiny mobile gadgets. Plus, I’ve designed print and digital content for big brands like Guitar Hero, Lego and Marvel Comics.
It’s fun to create things and so I also get involved on the concept, design and planning side too. I’ve made games for Apple’s iPhone, apps for smartphones and really clever bespoke public installations too.
As a writer I’ve appeared in print, on the Internet, on television and radio. You may have caught me on GigaOm, TheAppleBlog, Flux Magazine, Kunstforum, PC Gamer and BBC News. My articles have also been syndicated to lots of sites including CNN, The New York Times and Salon.
My favourite green tea is genmaicha. It’s made of roasted brown rice. Recently though, I’ve been enjoying strong, black coffee.
